AST Achievement Awards
Introduction
In order to promote for the advancement of the practice and science of Organ Donation and Transplantation program in Asia and in recognition of individuals who had made valuable and significant contributions to the noble cause, Asian Society of Transplantation (AST) would like to invite nomination from our members for AST Achievement Award. Detailed information of each award as seen below. It will be awarded biannually during the Congress of Asian Society of Transplantation.
Nomination guide
Nominations close 7th November 2025
- Members of the AST Award Committee are not eligible to nominate or to receive the AST Achievement Award
- Each nomination may be submitted for only ONE category of the awards

Criteria |
| AST Achievement Award for Research |
- Researcher of Asian ethnicity or serving in institution in Asia
- Distinguished achievements in the field of transplantation research with publications in reputable journals and/or international presentations
- Practice according to:
- The Declaration of Istanbul on Organ Trafficking and Transplant Tourism
- The Consensus Statement of the Amsterdam Forum
- Position Paper of the Ethics Committee of the International Xenotransplantation Association

- Clinical worker of Asian ethnicity or serving in institution in Asia
- Distinguished achievements impacting organ donation and transplantation in the community:
- Delivery of transplant care and social service
- Community education for renal disease awareness
- Compensated positions are disqualified
- Practice according to:
- The Declaration of Istanbul on Organ Trafficking and Transplant Tourism
- The Consensus Statement of the Amsterdam Forum
- Position Paper of the Ethics Committee of the International Xenotransplantation Association

- Scholar of Asian ethnicity or serving in institution in Asia
- Current or past faculty member with at least 5 years of teaching/training experience in transplant fellowship
- Served as speaker or Scientific Chairperson in AST or international CME activities
- Practice according to:
- The Declaration of Istanbul on Organ Trafficking and Transplant Tourism
- The Consensus Statement of the Amsterdam Forum
- Position Paper of the Ethics Committee of the International Xenotransplantation Association

Announcement of Results and Award Presentation
The AST Award Committee will go through each nomination for a formal evaluation and select a winner for each category. Award recipients need to attend CAST 2025 to qualify to receive the award, unless in exceptional circumstances (e.g. death of a loved one, sickness)
The selected winner will be notified by email in early November 2025. The awarding ceremony will be held during CAST2025. The winner for each category of AST Awards shall receive a certificate and a plaque issued by AST.
In circumstances when no eligible or suitable nominee is available for the respective category, the AST Award Committee reserves the right to skip the award for the given year. The decision of the AST Award Committee is FINAL and not subject to any appeal process.
